The Reason For Not Updating The Website

Posted on 22nd Sep 2010 @ 3:32 PM

Yes I know, I haven't updated the site with my new designs for almost half a year already!

Reason being, between the opening of my new flagship boutique at Parco at Millenia Walk, staffing problems (it's sooo difficult to find good sales staff! All interested parties are welcome to send in your applications to summerdoll.intl@gmail.com), and restocking several boutiques which also carry my label, I was finding it difficult to squeeze in the time to do a proper photoshoot for my new range.

Speaking of which, yes, I have a new range! It's chic workwear, mostly dresses, as opposed to the more casual designs I used to do (which you see on the site). I LOVE my new range. However, I am only sewing two in each size per design, so they are all extremely limited. Good news is, my customers don't have to worry about seeing another person wearing the same dress (apparently many people other than me are fed up with mass produced made-in-china clothes). Bad news is, they tend to sell out before I even manage to take photos of them, not to mention post on the website.

Fabrics used for my new chic work range are all high quality Japanese fabrics, as opposed to those China-made fabrics which are thin, see-through, cheaply-dyed (you know when the colour runs the moment you wash it) and tend to shrink/stretch.

I promise I am trying my best to update the site with the new designs. I suspect I am unable to do a photoshoot with a model, and may have to simply take photos of them on my dressmaker's dummies. In the meantime, please pop by my boutique at Parco at Millenia Walk :)

P.S. My dresses were featured in the August 2010 issue of CHIC magazine and also the October issue of ELLE magazine. Will try to get a scan and upload! :)
